Thread: Skin DEEP - The Shut Out

  1. #1

Default Skin DEEP - The Shut Out

Things have just started to get interesting! We've had our first shut-out of the series! The decently designed Meridian Jazz Evolution Exotic Bass took out the AC 0201 Krell 4 Bass without even a glance in the rear view mirror.

8 - 0. Amazing victory. The Krell had been doing so well.

Soooo, onward and upward. I have a feeling the Meridian is going to be hard to beat, so I thought we'd make our first attempt by bringing out the Ibanez. Though they sometimes lose, Ibanez basses are always real lookers, and if anybody CAN beat the Meridian, it just might be this tastefully simple design.

Meet the Ibanez GWB1 Gary Willis Signature 5 String Fretless Bass. So clean, so beautiful. Fits as a nice challenger against the more intense Meridian.

Does the fair Ibanez GWB Fretless have enough smooth moves to take the crown from the Meridian Jazz Evolution Exotic Bass?

I like the clean look of the Ibanez, but the ramp between the neck pickup and the fingerboard looks a bit odd and kinda spoils the look. I'm sticking with the Meridian.

I'd a voted for the Ibanez if it didn't have that "growth like" ramp.

Well, I don't think a single vote swing wouldn't save the Ibanez anyway. New post will be up shortly. I'm still hunting for a challenger.
