Thread: Skin DEEP - MTD Shutout

  1. #1

Default Skin DEEP - MTD Shutout

In a surprising shutout round, the MTD 535 Bass took it to the Schecter Stiletto Extreme 4 Bass, and closed her down with a vote of 8 - 0. Yikes!

So, I found something a little off the beaten path for this week's challenger.

Meet the William Jeffrey Jones Hyperion VLM Bass.

Wow,the builder of the Hyperion openly discusses the inclusion of a scarf joint in the neck construction. Odd. I would never knowingly buy a bass employing a scarf joint to attach the headstock. However, I would be surprised if I don't have some scarf joints in my herd. They can be impossible to detect on a painted neck. Anyway, my vote goes to the MTD.

Not a real fan of the yellow/turning to orange fretboard on the Hyperion.

Looks like it is almost a piccolo bass, 32" scale, tuned up.

    Sticking with the MTD

Sorry for the delay. They're doing construction in my building -replacing old, corroded plumbing. The sediment from the old pipes is making me seriously sick in the gut (I always get gut-sick). If I'm not in the bathroom, I'll have the new round up tonight. I'm also expecting to have our new feature ready by this weekend.

    Gutsick is not good!

Hope the construction is over soon and you're back on your feet!

He's still here. I don't think he has access to a keyboard, though!
