note : Indamixx is a "Portable Studio" You can purchase a laptop with it pre-installed but you can also purchase a "pro" version for Laptops and a version for the Raspberry Pi.

Indamixx is not actually a D.A.W. it's a 32-bit version of Ubuntu that's optimised for audio.
You'll need to burn the installer to a CD/DVD (a USB-Stick doesn't work) and boot your computer from that CD/DVD. This will load an installer where you can select to wipe the entire drive or to resize a partition and install on that one.

You cannot run Indamixx "Live" from the CD/DVD

After installation you'll get a boot menu (that only shows for 1 second) where you can select Indamixx or another O/S (if you've got a dual-boot
setup).

When Indamixx is finished loading you'll have only a handful of programs, the most important ones are energyXT and Mixxx (
http://www.mixxx.org) which is a Free DJ tool.

When purchasing Indamixx you'll get a license for energyXT and you'll need it to use energyXT after installing Indamixx.

Indamix seems to be 32-bit only and it has an old 2.x kernel.

With the current version of Indamixx I think it's better to just purchase a license for energyXT and use your preferred O/S (version 3 has a Windows and Mac version and for Linux the current version is 2.7)
